Meticulous Stitching and Fine Detailing Mark these Vintage Raffia Textile Kuba Skirt Panels. I have Seen and Sold Many of the Hand Woven, Applique, Embroidery and Reverse Applique Kuba Textiles Over the Years, and These are of Exceptional Workmanship and Design.
These are Panels from a Much Longer Skirt, which was worn by men of the Bakuba Tribe, Formerly Zaire, Africa. Wrapped Around and Around and Cinched at the Waist, as Ceremonial Dress. These Panels also have the Wonderful Ball Fringe on the Lower Edge, Hand Made of Gathered Tufts of Raffia Fiber from the Date Palm Tree. Colors are in Straw, Cinnamon, and Brown Black. Each Textile Panel has only a Minimum of Flaws. Lovely as Wall Decor Amongst Other African and Ethnic Collectibles. Pillows and Upholstered Stools are Another Possibility. One may even Consider Incorporating into Fashion Apparel.
